HID FLICKER
 

Alright guys before I bought my HID kit from ddmtuning I did my research here and people complained about the flicking with the 35/55w etc etc. And the error eliminators were suppose to fix it. Well I ordered the error eliminators just for the hell of it when i ordered my kit. But from my experience today installing my HID kids I chose not to use the Error eliminator and my headlamps flickerd. So inside the car I changed the settings from headlamp from constant to manual and the flickering is now gone. Maybe people had the flicking issue because when the headlamps are on constant they are somewhat half beamed and the ballast isnt getting enough power? I hope this helps some of you people out there

My left oem bi-x is flickering, and Steve (MBenzNL) is pretty sure it's the ballast that's gone bad. It's not too expensive to buy and test, but I'd like to hear more about this constant vs. manual

I think constant vs. manual, when I did it:

Constant: Lights always on.

Manual: Knob on left side.

Unsure if that affected my flickering, haven't driven enough at night.

See I have that same issue with mine, and I just dealt with it. I would get flickering sometimes and then the light finally stays on. Its been doing that since I installed them. The HIDs flicker almost all the time when the car is cold. I would have to wait a certain amount of time after the car has turned on to avoid the flickering. Then I get a low beam error. Shouldn't the error cancelers and relay prevent this from occurring? Its weird, the lights will almost always flicker when the car is cold. This is when it is on "Auto" but when I take it off of that and put it on Manual, it does the same thing as well, however I usually wait to turn them on, and then the errors come anyway. Anyone know what I can do to remedy this? I have a 2002 C-240. Also I do plan on taking the car to perform my Service B today at an indie who specializes in Mercedes, I was wondering if I had him change the setting in the car to Xenon = Present and remove the error cancelors if that would fix the problem...

You must go to the dealership and get the settings set to xenon=present. Will take care of everything.

+1 for the xenon settings. If you set them to present via STAR, then you won't have any issues with flickering and won't need error eliminators.
