always wear protection...

proud to say that I put 3M paint protection on myself (with the help of a friend). i figured it would be a good investment since i just got my new bumper and paint done about 3-4 weeks ago. it started off pretty clean, but the lower amg bumper was a pain in the bumper!

Nice RACK! hehe... CLS wheels are always lovely. What size tires did you go with? You ever consider painting them bronze or gunmetal? It'll look really nice with your paint color. I say get them done bronze.

I need to repaint my bumper before I do the clear bra. Maybe after the summer.

thanks man... i actually think of your previous setup when i look at my car (fork mount roof rack/fairing + cls wheels). i went with 235's front and 255's rear.

and good lord i think bronze would like sick! i think i'm going to do it. i'll have to re-pay to mount/balance these guys, but it'll be worth it.

powdercoating runs $125/wheel... and that's more than i paid per wheel for these. i'll have to explore some options but damn son... that is a good idea. i might even end up doing the bike racks to match... hmmm

i actually have to re-do the lower part of the amg bumper. the hood and side panels were a breeze. i got ambitious and tried to do one piece for it all, with bumper mounted, and low to the ground. it wasn't a fun day. i'm going to split up the bottom lip bra and redo it. overall, i think it turned out nice... but after i fix the bottom i'll be much happier.

best $80 i ever spent (material cost for 3M clear bra -- discounted from a friend's shop)... however it took like 6 hours to do.

you can always just buy wheel paint and just remove your wheels, tape up the tires and paint away. You can buy duplicolor bronze wheel paint and buy the wheel clear coat too, cost like 25 for both cans or less. Not powdercoat but works really wheel, plus if you ever get a scratch or nicks you can repaint them but the clear should protect it.

I'll paint my roof rack champagne gold if you paint yours bronze lol.... I think I'll have extra paint after painting my wheels.

nice... precut saves a hell of allot of time. i do not recommend doing the entire front with one piece unless you're a pro. amg bumpers are too curvaceous

i checked and they only have pre-facelift for the coupes, so i guess i would have been stuck cutting it by hand anyway.

most likely... but w/o extra "fabric" for errors i'll stay clear.

when i did the front... i made sure to have 4'' extra 3M poly on the extremes and at times it really came in handy.

nice... thats cheap!

however, is it 3M quality? one of the biggest things i didn't want is to have a film that will yellow after 3-4 years and I know 3M doesn't do this.

i hope you have luck with this brand... it seems pretty legit
