2001 CLK 320
Too tall for a Coupe?
I was at the dealer,checkbook in hand. I couldn't bring myself to say yes. I'm 6'1", and even with the seat raked, I had about half an inch above my head. I just was not comfortable enough. Are there any owners over 6' that are satisfied with the room?This car did not have power seats. Does power adjust any lower than the manual ?

All kidding aside, the manual seats have a verticle height adjustment lever on the lower outside of the seat. Often at dealerships, this gets mistaken as the lever to tilt the seat forward (for rear seat access), and never gets set back to the original position. It 'ratchets' - Pull up to raise, push down to lower -
My salesmonkey made this mistake while delivering/demo-ing my car....and Dr. Iggy wondered why I gave him a banana for breakfast that day....

headroom
I'm 6' 3" and have a long back and with the vertical height adjustment at the lowest setting, the headroom is just fine, thank you very much (manual seats).

As the third 6'3" guy in a row, my car has a great amount of headroom. I keep the seat all the way down, and have about four to five inches above my head. I don't have a pano-roof, but MB says this only eliminates 1.5 inches. Oddly enough, the pano-roof car has more headroom in the back (0.3 inches) than the hardtop.

Thanks to all you tall guys that responded. Thanks to you I will take a test drive and try to sit in one with electric seats. I'm sure part of my gripe is because I switching from the fairly upright seated Jetta. I've had more reclined cars in the past. ie- Datsun 280Z, Mitsu Starion.
