PLEASE HELP A NEWBIE OUT DEAD CAR!!
My car died while driving. First there was a drive to workshop srs,then brakes, then it lost power. someone gave me a jump it started but by morning it started all of 5min then shut off. and the only msg still is the srs.please help only had this ride 3months. 2004 c240 have no clue about benzes.also i noticed water on the floor in the driver side and passenger side it was after a severe thunderstorm. what the heck?????????/

Does the car have a sunroof? If so, and both floors are wet, the drains for the sunrrof channel may be clogged. Do yu have any rust around the windshield, or does the rubber not lay perfectly flat around the windshield? This can be another source of the water.
It is hard to say what shut the car down, but excessive water can cause all kinds of problems - or not be related at all. We would need more information to help.
But get it dried out!!! Get a small de-humidifier and get it running inside.

please help a newbie out dead car!
yes i do have a sunroof and no to all of your other questions. its 90 degrees here in ny and so everything is dried out.the weird thing is that the water was only on the driverside front and driverside passenger. now the only thing that happens is when i try and start it is some loud fan kicks on. do you think this is a battery or alternator problem? this is now 2 days later so i can assure you everything is dry.

failing alternator may have killed the battery and as a result of lack of proper voltage, various electronics systems started shutting down.
You can remove the battery and take it to any auto parts store; they can LOAD TEST the battery. You will also need to test the alternator as well.
Problem related to water may be entirely a separate issue; as pointed by other members, sunroof drain channels may have been clogged.
