2004 C240 Istrument Cluster Won't Cycle through
I have a weird one, the other day my steering wheel controls stopped working, so to cycle through the instrument cluster functions like trip miles and gas mileage screens I had to do it with the knob on the instrument cluster. But now that has stop working as well. The odd thing is when I turn the car on I have an SRS error (due to battery replacement about a year ago) and at side marker light error so those come on the cluster first, I can hit the reset knob to get past those 2 errors but then it sits on a screen with just my overall mileage and will not move past it at all. Any Ideas. I am assuming my controls stopped working due to a bad contact as mentioned in other threads, but not being able to cycle through the cluster annoys me because I can't get to my fuel economy to see how my mpgs which I always try to watch. Any help would be appreciated.

I would say your clock spring went out which could have also caused an issue with the airbag. I am no expert on that but that is where I would start my research. BTW a battery change should not cause an SRS error that is not cleared by now so that is why I would research how the air bag and clcok spring work together.

Thanks for the help, I did some more searching and adjusted the clockspring, somehow I had it off as far as the green gear being lined up and it eliminated the ESP error. But the SRS error is still there. So I am guessing that would mean the clock spring is shot then and I need a new one, just want to make sure that is the correct conclusion before I purchase one as the are pretty spendy.
