it has an internal levelling tube, you fill it using an adapter and a hand-pump until it comes back out. The tube is like a straw poking out above the level inside the transmission oil pan.
if you have to check the level, youd do it by introducing a tiny bit of fluid and seeing if it rejects it while the car is warm/running.
