BAS - ABS Problems
I have had my 2003 C230K since February, over the last few days I have been getting some error messeges from the display that say:
BAS - Visit Shop Soon
and
ABS - Visit Shop Soon
Has this happened to anyone? is there anything I should know before dropping it off at the dealer? I have made an appointment for it to be looked at and was wondering if anyone here has been having similar problems?
Thanks in advance, and thanks for the forum.
Is the code always there, or does it go away? If it's always there, then hopefully it will show up in the DAS computer at the dealer and they will know what to fix.
If it's similar, a new wiring harness unit update kit may cure the problem, which is the development of high resistance in some sensor wiring connectors. Ask your dealer about it.
Hi, I am new to the forum, I have tried to search this topic but had no luck.

I just picked up mine one month ago and I have the same problem. It was supposed to be in for service last Wednesday but I was too ill to take it in! As soon as I find out the problem, I will post my results. Please do the same if you find out anything beforehand.

They looked at it today, they ordered the parts needed to fix, it is a pretty minor issue. I was wrong about the error, it's a BAS/ESP error not a BAS/ABS error. I will keep you posted, but after searching for the right thread, I don't want to beat this dead dog to death.

Ours was throwing intermittent messages for most of the three years we've owned it, but always went away after an engine shutdown and restart. Usually months would pass between messages, but just before a long trip this year, it happened twice within a month - so I had the fix applied, and no problems since.
