How many problems with your C? What kind? Reliability? Which Years?

That's HOT !
at least my trunk doesn't rattle ! Maybe that's a Delaware mod only.
it was 27k not 25k, not one penny wasted, and it's a GIRL Coupé.

a few other points:
$27k, since you started this whole $25k / $27k thing, show me the receipts,
so I know where all my money went....
funny how a few weeks ago, before you were, ummm what's that word, oh yeah: BANNED, you were ranting & raving about the Coupe.
I get me a CLK 500 or CLK 55 too before I wated 27K on a coupe. Wow something in common !!?!!
trade or sell the car ? recover 10K ?
never, I'll blow the engine on circuit track first !

anyway,
not necessarily a problem, but did find out that my Coupé will most likely need a ME reprogram to get the MB Speed Limiter to work properly. That's something that can be fixed when DISTRONIC is installed, so I'll wait til then.

He can wallow in his own ignorance.
There's more AMG to that Coupé than there is MB left.
Once Affalterbach finishes it off, it will be the only C32 AMG Coupé in the USA, official and true. Sometimes, uniqueness and head turns are worth more than the 4,350 models of a dealership AMG.
Where he got the $25K number I'll never know. But I don't really care, because I don't have to count pennies, and money is no object to me when it comes to working on my fleet of Mercedes-Benz.

Yeah your fleet aint worth too much. I got a Fleet too. My 01 E55 AMG, and 04 C230, and lets not forget my 02 E46 M3 Cabrio which planning on getting rid of and getting a CLK 500 or CLK55 AMG. And best of all Im only a teen. Your car will not be an C32 AMG until it has the AMG Engine. Plus I got better things to waste my money on rather than trying to make a car into an AMG when its not. I rather go buy the real deal. Save money. Wont be an imposter. Anyways this thread is going
get back on TOPIC.

I know Steve (MBenzNL) mentioned it to me, but I forget things faster than KIMI RAIKKONEN at the Turkish Grand Prix !
What is it in the DISTRONIC programming or module that enables the Speed Limiter ? And what exactly does the ME do ?
thought I had a problem this past weekend too with front passenger seat.
Didn't want to move forwards or backwards to adjust seating position.
Started to get annoyed, until I got out of the car went over to the passenger side, and found an empty water plastic bottle gooning up the rails. Problem fixed, but everytime something dumb like that happens, I get flashbacks of this thread, and all the possible worst scenarios start running through my head.

no worries though....

anyway, gotta do some homework !!
The ME is the same as the MPFI. It's the ECU of the engine basically. This needs programming for Distronic to work at all. For the speed limiter, no programming is required in the ME but the pedal kickdown switch will not work. If a ME module is correctly programmed for limiter, and the limiter is active, then when you press the pedal all the way down and click the switch, it disables the limiter. This is not really necessary for the limiter to work correctly. The limiter should be enabled in the cluster and that is the only place you need it done. You also have to use a Star with Developer Mode. There are many flavors of Star with Developer mode as well and every single month update does things to the star system. Steve did my limiter but I am not sure what he set to PResent. It was in the cluster though for sure. If I am coming there, I can bring my DAS with me and try it.
Keys (4 times), floormats (the attachment buttons broke off), shifter trim plate, purge valve, pushbutton a/c control module, central locking pump and relay (for drivers seat), voice command module, rear seatbelt, command system, pse, microphone, driver seat frame, turn signal stalk (3 times), washer pump (4 times), rear sunscreen, seat controller for easy entry/exit, A/C smell (3 times), turn signal combi switch (2 times), washer nozzles, turn signal inop (harness update), instrument cluster, washer fluid container, spark plugs, spark plug wires.
The above is a list of the things fixed and doesn't include all the little intermittent things that don't happen at the dealer (like the down window express mode on one door, or a whining noise from the command system when I get in the car, or the radio cutting out, etc...)
Sigh, I wonder what suprises the next few months will bring...
Well, my car has been in for 6 more suprise visits since my post in this thread on 10/12/04. My car has been in for:
Broken steering column coupler, left and right side B pillars replaced due to rust, electric drivers seat inop, A/C smell - evaporator replacement, air footwell flap broken, multicontour drivers seat switch replace, drivers seat frame (again), easy exit feature inop (again), all 4 doors weather strip door seals replaced.
And right now my car has been in since last week getting its transmission replaced and the A/C disinfected again (even after the new style evaporator core). All this and just 40k miles on the odo. Thank heaven for the extended warranty I purchased!

Dealer replaced control module for sunroof. (Sunroof would lose 'one-touch close' function about a day after being resynched) Done under warranty.
Other than tires, the sunroof control module, and the items listed in my earlier posts (rattles - fixed, parking brake adjustment - fixed, CD player skipping - fixed, wind noise from window trim - fixed), no other problems . . . and nothing that would have left me stranded.
I have to say that after 3 years and 59.9k miles, this car has been a good one.
