NGK LFR6AIX-11 (6619)? OR NGK ILFR6A Laser Iridium (3588)?

Hi,

I'm a huge fan of this forum and this is my first post to ask help.

I have bought 4-NGK LFR6AIX-11 (6619) because others recommended this plugs in other thread.

However, I just saw in Amazon.com that ONLY NGK ILFR6A Laser Iridium (3588) fits to my 05 C230K SS and NGK LFR6AIX-11 (6619) doesn't!!!! Can you please help me if I should return them and re-order ones? :nix:

Best regards,

Cooldad.

Seasoned members may advise against relying on Amazon for proper fitment and cross-reference intel, although in this instance they’re correct.
What does your Operator’s Manual specify?

I’ve had good results with both the ILFR6A and (altered) LFR6AIX-11 in various M271s.
NGK’s ILFRA/3588 is typically MB's OE fitment.
The generic replacement LFR6AIX-11’s (1.1mm/.044”) gap may prove too large to reliably arc owing to marginal coil-on-plug amperage.

Solid first post though. Welcome. :)

splinter,

Thank you very much for your help and encouragement!...though I feel like I fall too much behind seeing the chart. :(
I think I should then exchange for the OE fitment...right?

BTW, the operator's manual specifies the electrode gap of .8mm.

Any advice on the use of Bosch FR8 DPP 33 Platinum-Iridium plugs with the
M271, please? They come with a gap size of 1.0 mm and made in Germany.
Shan.

cooldad2010, you’ll be best off with either the Bosch FR6 MPP 332 or NGK ILFR6A. MB part number is 004 159 13 03.

There’s probably no real harm from using the less costly LFR6AIX-11, but you didn’t hear it here ;). Close the gap down to specification.

Shan.

Don’t install the FR8 DPP 33 in a (USA-specification) 1.8L M271, as its 19mm/.750” reach is insufficient.
The M271 requires a plug with 26.5mm/1.04” worth of threads.
