Is this possible?

So I leave my lights on 'Auto' about 99% of the time becuase it seems to work well for me. I do have one issue, however, I would like my front fog lights to turn on when the 'auto' lights turn on. Do you think this is possible?

I don't think so.

Why would you want your fog lights to go on every time you use your lights?

Foglights are "auxilliary" lights for use only in foggy weather. They are not "primary" running lights for nighttime use. Therefore they are not wired to illuminate with your car's regular low beams. I suppose they could be rigged to do so, but I would not see why you should.

I drive with my fogs on all the time because it lights up the road directly in front of the tires. This is very useful to avoid things like potholes in the road.

Basically what I am wondering is if there is a DAS setting to enable the fog lights to work with the auto setting. I will avoid 'hardwiring' the fogs as a work around...

It would have been better if when the switch was in the Auto position that you could turn the fogs on if needed. Instead you must turn the lights to on and then the fogs. I find it funny that I can turn on the fogs with just the parking lights but I can not select the fogs when in Auto mode. So I chose to only use them when I need them or I turn the lights on Manually. My switch is left in Auto mode %99 of the time so that the lights will come on at night when unlocking the car.

Its interesting that you point that out. My Jaguar has a very similar switch to our light system. Although on auto the fogs do not turn on, I am able to pull out the switch manually and enable the fogs...both front and rear. Although this is not a complete solution, it is a bit better then the MB way.

So does the foglight turn on when it's foggy under "auto"? I never have fog, so I never use 'em, but I guess it's nice to know. Actually once I was driving home at 3am and it was pretty foggy. I actually couldn't see.

Not to my knowledge...I have never had them turn on by themselves.

My lights are set to manual mode, but I have "locator" lighting enabled. So the lights turn on at night when unlocking the car, also. The two functions are separate. You don't need auto headlights to get the locator lighting. Locator lighting is programmable in the MFD setup screens.

My locator lighting only works in auto mode. This must be a change on the 2003. I have tried it both in Auto and with the switch in off mode and only auto works on mine.
