My poor little baby

Man I want your mods...but Im too scared to mess with anything in the engine bay. Its my achilles heel.
Electronics, audio, lighting..no problem. Ill cut up wires and re-program stuff no worries...but unbolting stuff in the engine bay...freaks me out!

I haven't done anything on my MB engine but I've considered getting some headers. If you make it to NC, I'll put your headers on if you do my nav head unit!

I have actually been planning a roadtrip down the eastern seaboard for a while now. It might be a few months, but Ill ultimately get down there...and Ill make sure to pick up some headers before.
The nav install is really simple. I can guide you through it on here or on the phone if you dont want to wait till then.

It had 100K miles, which seems like a lot, but then
that 80K less than I have, and at 20K miles a year, that's like
an extra 4 years and not having to do the head gasket.
It has some minor dings on the bumpers, and the sunroof is inop.
It was a small dealer, but the guy was pretty knowledgeable about Mercedes, though he thought the car had a 1.8L.
Ha.
It has automatic and pano and thats it.
Cloth upholstery, no C7 sport package, stock 16" wheels.
I'd have to swap the interior and the non op sunroof is kinda a deal breaker, he
said there was something wrong with the rails, and he knew about the washer fix.
Said that wasn't it.
I drove it.
I forgot what a stock C230 was like, and this one of course not being C7 has the extra resonator.
It was so quiet and rode so nice compared to my beast where I feel every bump in the road. I had the 16" wheels breifly before I added the AMG brakes, bought a set to use for snow, to be able to put chains on, sold 'em later. But the car did ride nice when I had them on 55 series vs. 45.
More rubber between you and the road. And being skinny is less resistance.
But with the pulley on, I laid scratch everytime I took off. So they were kinda useless.
It didn't have the throttle response that mine did, and I checked the oil and yeah it looked like Dino oil. But it ran good and really took off when you put your foot into it.
Well, they're asking 7500. I wouldn't pay more than 5K with the busted sunroof, and I think I'll just keep looking. Some idiot put this big "Hello Kitty" sticker on the side,
yeah, it was a chick car.

The Best of Mercedes & AMG
There are just things they do not do. MW_Atl is not joking about his Orion coupe. I've seen it in person and it is about as new looking as a car of that vintage can be.
Unfortunately, mine is starting to show age. My current big issue is the cloth covering the trim panels on the A and B pillars. It has started coming loose, showing wrinkles and such. I've already replaced the right side B pillar, and the right side A is next. I am going to experiment with the A pillar cover and see if I can re-wrap it. Headliner itself is also starting to try to sag in the middle at the back hatch - not the fabric, but the board itself. Maybe a spot of silicone in the middle under it will keep it stuck up (oh I hate I am even considering that!).

but hey, if it is under some kind of warranty that would be great!

Like you, I think I'd like to stay with the Coupe. Who knows though.
If you find a Coupe Hatch and it needs to be picked up or stored for a bit, you know I have your back.

I'd be really tempted to look for one with 6 speed.
30 more HP to the road.
The guy wants 8 grand, I wouldn't give him more than 6.
Silver would be OK too, but yeah not red.
Yeah. I'd go with another coupe.
They're a screamin' deal. I'm not ready to give mine up, but it just makes
sense to not fix mine and replace it with a lower mileage car.
What else can you buy for 6-7 grand that's as nice?
Ha a f'ing honda of same year would cost more.
And when I put all my mods on the new(er) car, I'll take detailed pics, since I'll be performing
every mod possible all at once.
I'll write a book that I can sell on Amazon on customizing C Coupes.
Probably won't sell a lot of copies, but I have a wealth of knowledge on these cars
and it would be cool to compile it all together in one place and be a published author.
Then when some newbie says, I just bought my car and
what now? I can tell 'em to buy my book beeeotch!

Oh then for sure get a 6 speed then
Such a blast to run through the gears and heel toe downshift! Driving a stick shift is going to be a lost art sooner than later.

Buddy of mine has an S4.
I never knew what a high powered car that could be
He's got the V8 version with 4wd and a stick.
He had it chipped and it's pushing 440HP.
I mean...wow.
And the funny thing is that with 4wd, you never lay scratch.
You just lauch. Amazing.

Hmmmmm....
how much trouble could it be?
Likely the Supercharger needs rebuild, alternator brushes replaced
wire and coil packs, tranny and brake fluid flush and then cross my fingers.
I got no where to work on cars right now though.
(Oh wait...wife = no cash for mods).Seriously, I've always loved the Blue on the C32. That could open up a whole wealth of new mods and fun you can have, plus be something a bit different. And when you run out of the normal mods, *you* could always think about changing it from an Auto and writing that up.

The 5 speed auto however can handle gobs of power which is why they still use it on the AMG's.
Well, in reality a new car isn't in my future, and a C32 would mean higher operating costs.
I think my 1st idea is better.
Now if I could just find a 2002 C230 w/C7.
My tires are bald too.
I was adding all the costs even with coming out ahead on the body work.
1300 for body work, 2000+ for a head gasket (total costs depends on head work needed) and 600 for new tires, mine are bald.
Thats 4 grand for a car that wouldn't sell for more than 3 in it's current condition stock.
And even if I fixed everything, I still wouldn't get more than 4 for it, exactly what I'll be putting into it.
But yeah, if I go to a C32 I would be able to sell all my parts, AND the car.
I don't have anywhere to work on a car right now, so I'll just keep driving my current one for a while, unless I just happen to see an Orion Blue, C7, Pano, leather 6 speed coupe for sale at a good price.
If I don't get C7, I'll be stuck with a set of those crappy 16" wheels and I can't put them on my car without 1st taking the AMG calipers off.
If I could find one with 17" wheels and good tires, that would be one less thing to buy. Me tires be bald!

It really is a shame, as it's such a nice color.
