07 c230 check engine light?
The car has 37k miles
Hmmz.. recently, i seen a 07 c230 had check engine light with about 45k mileage. The problem is the Magnent solenoid. Total of 4 and there are 2 that had to be changed out. Oil was leaking out and into the solenoid causing the check engine light. You can do a DIY on this. Part is inexpensive and easy to remove and install.

Edit: Just checked the coolant level on a warm engine. It barely reaches the black spot, the manual told me it should be on top of it. I'll have to add some, but is it the reason the check engine came on for that little coolant missing?
I also haven't noticed the temp gauge fluctuating, so I don't think it's the thermostat.. will do some more driving and keep an eye on it to make sure.

So aside from a new thermostat, there is also another issue about the burnt oil.
oohh.. he said "maybe", well, perhaps he should check. But burnt oil and burnt coolant is two seperate animals. Well, regardless, you should check to see if there is a leak and if this needs to be change since there is a high chance the magnets may have failed.

Is this the correct part # A 272 200 01 15? Do I need anything additional to that?
How much of a pain in the *** is it to change myself?

Well, it hurt if you check if there is a leak on the magnent solenoid. Just lift the front plastic off and you can see the magnent solenoid. If there are oil, then you have a developing problem. You can always wait till a check engine code to light up before changing. It's up to you.

I'll definitely check on the solenoids.
