2002 C230 Kompressor
i have a rattle coming from the hatch area... sounds like plastic hitting plastic - very rapidly. i guess a piece of trim is loose. car's going in monday so i'll add it to my list!

from inside the car, when the car is still cold, or been sitting for a while, I hear a kind of a 'rattling' noise as you describe, which is in time with the revs. I beleive the engine has some sort of bypass valve that causes it to sound funny until it warms up.
But yeh, the 02 engine make some strange sounds, but I've learned to ignore them since they seem to happen consistantly and at certain times like when cold.
