Input/Help from an ex or current Benz service tech....
)The footwell part itself only cost according to invoice $30, however the labor totaled $380, following through the dash and radio procedure. Their labor charge is $95/hr (so according to our 3rd grade math that is 4 hours, which they claim is book charge). After reading many threads and searching I have found that it is an hour to hour and half job for those qualified techs. Also remember reading that the average Joe going by the DIY method should take about 2 hours. So did my mom get taken for?
Also when she picked the car up from this repair, both the CD player and seat movement of back & forth stopped working. I have an appt with them tomorrow to get the CD player fixed after researching and finding out that doing this repair resulted in this malfunction.
They claimed though the seat has nothing to do with that even though it was working when she dropped it off
The invoice/receipt said need 2 actuators to be replaced but doesn't state for what area or purpose. Are these cheap modules? How much from dealer? This shop took advantage of my mom and her being too naive didn't always get a quote and diagnostic before any work was preformed so basically they just strung her along knowingly. Lied about being a Porsche certified shop when they dropped in her new motor for boxter, which now has a voided warranty(that's a whole different story) ....

Thanks for those that can give any input!

I understand that and book charge...just curious for those that had it done at their warranted dealer, even though they don't have to pay if they are still covered, how many labors hours did they claimed on your invoice?
Also does the actuator issue relate to the driver seat movement? Are they the ones hat cost like $18 from what I remember reading to fix this issue?
