Help With 2001 C280 Issues
Hi Im totally new hear BUt have had this problem before.
Payed Tow Company to bring it to shop and shop called in 15 minutes Problem Solved.
Im hoping you can help.
I accidentally hit the "TOW BUTTON " on dash and problem started .
After speaking with many they all said the tow button ONLY disengages alarm for towing purposes.
The car would not go in gear. It was locked in park. After doing the whole pushing pin down in gear shift with pen we were able to put it in drive . While car is in drive it is stuck in low gear and wont shift into high gear.
We tried to reset car by disconnecting battery,
Im completely lost.
I know its a simple fix to someone who has knowledge of Mercedes cars.
After problem I had exclamation point in center of dash and had a problem starting it, Afer finally getting started I am left with a solid block where it should say D for drive.

so the car would not go into gear so you had it towed or it had another issue and after the two would not go into gear?
And do you have a w202 or w203?
I don't think they made a 2001 c280 w203 anywhere that is why I ask. I know there was a 2000 c280 which is a w202?

ok so it is a w202 so you are in the wrong place I think. Does your car look like below? if so then it is a w203 if not then it is a w202 so you post here https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w202-27/
