Good deal?
Hello all!! I purchased a "new" car today. NADA and KBB says that its still below retail, but I would like to hear what you guys think.

23,999 miles
$18,000
cosmetically flawless, test drove it around the block once
Paid an extra $3K for 5yr/60K mile warranty (the best I could negotiate)
total $21,000

I wouldn't be so rough on Houston. A lot depends on the market in his area, how well he trusts the source, what he was driving before, etc. For myself, I wouldn't buy a W204 - I like the W203 body A LOT better. The miles are super low. Presumably, he got a good warranty and not one of the many crappy ones you hear about.

IMHO craiglist is the best place to check what private parties are asking for similar car , what delaers are asking for and if you have an ebay account and want to know what really people are paying to buy a similar car, just log into your account do a search and on your left you can chcek the "completed listing" box and you will see what people really paid to close deals on similar car......

I could have walked off with the car at $18K, but remember, the factory warranty was already out. I figured, at $21K with a "new car warranty", it still puts me at $2K under the NADA "excellent condition" retail value, or about $1500 over clean trade-in value with NO WARRANTY.
I was looking at the typical repair costs on this car for little things like A/C, or window/seat motors, transmission.. it made me cringe.

Thats not a bad price at all. I paid 17k for my 06 c350 6MT back in dec. 28994 miles on it at delivery. Had to fix some things but I think it was fair. 07's hold their value more.

But got a c350 6spd, that's hard to find. This is a c230. Just make sure the fine print on the warranty covers everything. Some may cover just the simple stuff and not things like the drive train. MB really gets **** about checking the extended warranty to see if it gets covered or not.
