AC blows on driver side footwell?

AC blows on driver side footwell?

Issue:
Vehicle: Late 2004 C240 Wagon, 101K miles. Serviced by Mercedes dealership.

UPDATE:
I tried the reset (defogger / recycle) and the lights flashed alternating side to side and I can hear the air cycling through the duct work from top to bottom, vent etc.
ISSUE: the lights never stopped flashing until I turn the car off about 5 min. later.
? I guess this means there's a problem right?

Thanks Lilbenz. I will try that. Another reply stat to try the reset found on this forum under c203 section and the was a stickie at the top of the group about noisy AC. As well, benzworld.org had a similar suggestion about the reset.
Are you saying that a recharge solves the air at the footwell problem?

*Note - 99% of the time you do NOT need the A/c stepper motor*

Another test,.... cycle through all the vent selection,.... and feel for air coming out of each vent for each selection,... figure out which vent is broken. Likely its your foot well vent,... either stuck open or closed,.... your sound like driver side foot well vent is stuck open,..... buy Footwell flap linkage kit with 2 linkage arms (A203-830-00-33) and REPLACE BOTH,.... you don't want to have to tear up your dash to do the passenger side a few months after fixing the driver side!

Excellent advice. I will share this info with my mechanic. I would like to take my car to the dealer but it will cost way more than it should, but, there's a warranty for the work.
Does anyone know what two linkages should cost from a dealer (California) installed?

Another test,.... cycle through all the vent selection,.... and feel for air coming out of each vent for each selection,... figure out which vent is broken. Its a $20 part that takes 8 hours to install. Dealer will charge you 8 hours labour,.... so it`ll end up costing about $1,000 The DIY is in the sticky,.... just do it yourself. Unless you`re under warranty,...
