Camshafts - Which one is what?
This is the gear that has E marked on it, is that the EXHAUST while the A marked gear is the INTAKE?
Thanks in advance, still trying to find the best price on a replacement, but want to make sure I order the correct one!

Dealers was around $900 for a single camshaft gear!!! I have found a few online places with the OEM part for $680 range so I will be making calls to them.

Locating the cam gear has proven to be a challenge, appears to only be a dealer item and has to be ordered from MB direct with none of the 3 local dealers near me stocking it.
I also found the following information that was of value.

I have a leaking head gasket on the #4 cylinder which is common for M111.
While I have all the parts, it's probably less expensive to just swap the whole engine.
Ideally, get a wrecked 2002 Blue coupe, swap the engine and trans, and the rear hatch which is damaged for like 2 grand. I saw a complete engine on ebay with 6?K miles for like 1200.
Meanwhile I just keep driving it.

Racer8x,
When you rotate your chain by hand to make sure it makes a complete rotation does it happen to jump at that right cam teeth? I'm stuck on that part putting things back on. I do notice on mine that the teeth are worn as well *driver side* I had to rebuild my block from valves to new adjuster and chain.
