KLEEMANN parts are here !!!!! :)

The parts have arrived, now I need to decide which to install first.

I have recieved the KLEEMANN ring pulley and the lightwieght flywheel/ clutch assembly...

Any specific requests to see either of the components dyno'd against baseling singularly?

My install date is either Monday or Tuesday next week. I plan on hitting the 1/4 mile on Wed. or Fri. for stock times as well.

Of course you have to dyno them seperately, how else will you know if you have a problem or not and what your gain is.

Buell,

My point being that some people might have wanted to see the different of one of the mods, specifically dyno'd agaist baseline. i.e., tell me, would you like to see the flywheel or pulley installed first?

Really?

Even with other pulley vs. stock dyno posts are out there?

I was thinking flywheel first just for those on csportcoupe that expressed and explicit interest in the flywheel.

I am open to suggestions and requests. You are the last person I thought would want to see the pulley first though. But now that I think about it, I guess it makes sense with you representing ASP and all. But seriously, you're not at all curious what numbers would be represented as gained or recovered HP from the flywheel wieght reduction?

What's up guys... ?

I am just trying to make sure I do everything right. Baseline dyno, I had got a request for 1/4 miles times on another forum so I am going to try to facilitate that.

Everything is going in soon. Lot's more racing on it's way, me, one happy camper....

This is all going in, and the ECU matched to the pulley kit is coming soon... mmm, and maybe a little bit more. Can't say for sure yet....

Hey hey-

Very soon... Just spoke to someone about the photography and all regarding an image based sig.

I just picked up film to photograph the new stuff, but I won't be developing it until the install, because, what is a pic of the new stuff, without the old stuff to compare it to...?

Columbus- have you and Serge seen the beach meet thread in E&G? Beach, food, cars... my K Coupe, and ummm... strange girls who wouldn't otherwise talk to us...

Nuk, your patience just astounds me. Well, at least impresses me. I'd've been so tempted to just rush in and get everything installed. Must take a lot of effort to hold off until all the benchmarks are done properly.

Ha- I never said it wasn't hell.

This is a situation where additional things are needed as well, and things I had previously wanted to do, but never had the chance to, must be done.

I need to get my hands on the right Gear Oil. Brandon recommends Amsoil 74/90 GL4. My installer and a fellow racer does Redline on all his trans. The Redline is a mixture of MTL and Amsoil I think. So, I need to decide which one to use. KLEEMANNs recommendations have the highest priority.

Also, a few 1/4 mile runs are in order, and results have been requested.

Above and beyond. A stock Dyno run is critical to understanding the gains earned by the modifications.

So, all in all, is it painful? Yes. Is it worth it? Yes.

Hehe- ECU coming soon....

I baseline dyno'd my car today. I will scan and post the printouts tomorrow but here is what I got...

Stock M111

Max Power 169.1
Max Torque 178.7

Absolute barometric pressure: 30.03 in.Hg.
Vapor Pressure: 0.64 in.Hg
intake Air temp.: 84.2 F
Sea Level

Dyno'd in 4th gear, torque started dropping off at 4200, HP leveled off at 5400, ended the run around 6300. Air/Fuel ratio Min was 13.4, Max was 14.9

Yes, i know, pictures... Tomorrow.

How did they measure the A/F ratio? If it was with a tailpipe probe, the numbers are useless.

tailpipe probe- what makes them "useless"

They need to do the second 02 sensor behind the cat?

The purpose of the cat is to remove unburned hydrocarbons for the exhaust. The cat changes the A/F ratio by doing so. A/F should be measued at the O2 sensor. See the discussion about the OBDII scanners and software on the other board. You can monitor the A/F with a PDA or laptop during the dyno run. Or you can ask the shop to take the measurements at the O2 sensor.

The actual A/F ratio is richer than what is shown on your dyno sheet.

ahhh- I remember the discussion... Next time, after the clutch is installed, I will see if he can take a measurement from the O2 sensor.

Foiled again...

but at least it will provide stock boost vs. pulley boost A/F ratios...

Hey Nuk, who's Columbus? PM them and ask them to PM me. Which first?.....I'm an auto, but I'm guessing that the flywheel gains would remain a constant (opposed to a %). You may also notice different characteristics aside from HP from the flywheel. When Tullius's Group44 was running V12 XJS Jags they claimed to actually improve lap times at Road Atlanta with a heavier flywheel. Might have been paddok disinformation. The story was that the torque hit harder between shifts. I'd like to see the torque numbers from the chassis dyno runs.

The flywheel is in. I only took a short test drive after I was don. Took 5.5 hours including a lunch break!

The whole trans was out and it only took so long because this was my first time pulling the trans in this car.

I basically rented a lift and tools plus one helper to do the install at a friend's shop. Paid $40/hour. Not bad. Total was $200.00 beans.

I have to go really test it. The clutch feels very different, the shifts feel different. No real issues so far. When I reconnected my batt I got a "ESP system not available" error.

I will post pictures, installation write up, subjective opinion write up of the performance and feel of the unit, and I will re-dyno the car with the new fly wheel very soon.

Awesome, can't wait to hear the results. That ESP error is just because the steering angle sensor has to be reset. It has probably gone away by now, but you just turn the steering wheel all the way left, then all the way right and then back to center.
