Help from fellow C's with brakes...
I asked this in the wheel forum but got no help
. Maybe some of you will know. I would like to remove all the calipers on my 2001 C320 in order to paint them. I was wondering if there is a step by step post somewhere or if anyone could help and explain how. Also trying to figure out where to put the jack stands to hold the car up as the plastic jack points are diffrent from the V/U shaped stands that I have.

I think most people on here with painted calipers did it with them still on the car. Primarily because the high temperature paint used was applied via brush.
I use a floor jack to lift from the front and rear, then just put jackstands on the side jack points.

I'm sure that I'm going to get abused for this, but I really don't think that jackstands are even necessary - you're going to have your car up for 4 hours max on each end (time to allow paint to dry per instructions), and it's going to only be high enough to get the rims off.
And removing the calipers is overkill, imho. No one's going to see any parts of the calipers that you can't get with them on the car.
