I went to trade my Coupe last night......
Didn't your engine die at some point because the service department accidentally dropped bearings into the oil pan or something like that? I could've sworn you went through a giant fiasco where they had to remove the engine and replace it.
Erik
you are 'out of control'. i can't believe you also post in the w203 forum when you have an E. but that's ok, Es are welcome.
Thats the weird thing. The accident doesnt show up on carfax. We have a great price on the Tahoe. Its a 2003 Tahoe Z71 with all the options you can get, sticker is $46K, we have them down to around $35K for it. We are insurance agents for GMAC, so we actually get to buy the vehicle at suppliers price. Thats a killer price on the Tahoe, but we cant take a hit like that on the coupe.
Earlier this year my local dealer was selling new '03 coupes for as little as $21,999 and less than1000 mile service loaners for $18,999. The market is saturated with new coupes.
What you need is to find a sucker who wants a Benz in the worse way and is too stupid to hire someone to look it over before sale.
Finally, sure the Chevy dealer low-balled you but the question is by how much. I think the best you could reasonably expect for that car, given its history, is $12K.
Carmax offered me $13,900, and the Rover dealer offered $13,800. Thats better than whatthe Chevy dealer offered me.
Hopefully i will either get the Tahoe, or I am also looking at a used 2001 Discovery Series II.

BTW, I heard of a study in a psychology journal that showed that SUVs are bought by people who are twice as spooked by the possibility of criminal acts occuring against them, as is the average person. Good thing you're armed
