OK - Things just don't add up...
Mercedes-Benz says the manual C230 K can sprint to 60 in 7.2 secs. The fastest I have seen anyone do it (either here or in mags) is 7.4-7.5. This bucks the trend of manufacturers "underrating" 0-60 times; as almost every car will test quicker than what the factory says.
Now, add in the fact that even with pulley kits (220 HP claimed here) the car barely break into the 6s (6.9 being the best I've seen).
So the question is, does everyone just not know how to drive this car, or is MB techs smoking the wacky weed?

Maybe MB did their testing using a C230 set for 93-Octane Performance Mode, with Traction Control off, the secret Anti-Slip Off (DYNO mode), and grippier C7 tires. Those are conditions that not a single reviewer has ever tested.
All U.S. reviews were with stock 91-Octane (Normal Setting) engines, and with anti-slip still left on (only traction control is 'some' of them).
Just guessing...

Hmmm...that may be the case in deed. The only way to really answer it I guess is to have someone on this board volunteer. Do any of you have the C7 package, access to 93 premium fuel, and a willingness to turn off the traction on a 0-60 test?

It's not that easy to get good times witht he c_coupe. Traction control "on" hitting the the ESP hard will net you a 8.5 sec 0-60.
Carlson's modified coupe (220 HP) turns 7.6 0-100 km . The facts are that the Coupe is not a sprinter. Lets face it the car is not light weight @ 3300+ lbs that is as much as 700lbs more than some of the cars in it's same class. I like my little Mercedes sure I could get a fast Subaru I just don't want one.

Once I break 1,000 miles (based on the last two days, that will happen in 5 days) I will attempt some clean 0-60 runs. Just need to borrow of those g-tech (sp?) computers to get accurate time.

I may be putting my car on a chassis dyno... is this a setting I can access or is it a "dealer only" software setting?

I had no idea that this car had "cheat" codes. That seems like sort of false advertising doesn't it? For Mercedes to say the car will do this, but then not tell anyone openly how those results were achieved.
This just makes my choice of buying one even harder...
