Poorly maintained C230K
Quick update on my poorly maintained 2003 C230K with the 230K miles, original plugs, battery, worn-out suspension, etc.: on a recent trip I got 39MPG!

Sounds like your instrumention or computation is off. I recall during the Apollo program my father-in-law was called in the middle of the night by mission control seeking advice as telemetry reported 3700 Kilos of fecal material in the holding tank. He advised the astronauts should don their space suits and hold on outside because if the data is correct, the capsule is full of Sh*t.

Interesting story, Movie. Even more interesting is the factor that the factor the actual value was off from the reported. You might expect a multiple of 10 or 2.2 but not .92!
Incidentally, I agree with you about the mileage. My car has never reported much over 32mpg (which was likely optimistic). 39mpg probably requires a down-hill trip with a tail wind and never using your brakes.

- Fill up the tank
- Note the mileage
- Drive
- Fill up the tank again
- Note the amount of gas needed to refill the tank
- Note the mileage
- Compute mpg
