Looking to get coilovers

I have a 2004 C230K 6speed that I'd like to get some coilovers installed. 1000-1500 price range.

Perhaps this is a stupid question and excuse my ignorance if so, but I just noticed that the springs and the struts are apart from each other on each side on this car. Does that matter when getting coilovers?

I've searched the forums extensively but the way my suspension is set up is what's bothering me.

Thanks!

that's because on stock cars the struts/shocks are a separate part from the springs. Coilovers are designed the same but the springs are just preloaded on the coilovers and adjusted by perches that you turn to adjust the ride height. Search the picture thread and wheel thread and you'll see a lot of peoples setups on their suspension. If you're not going to fine tune your suspension a lot I recommend getting springs and good struts/shocks and you'll save a bit of money. Depending on the drop you want if you want to go pretty low I recommend H&R springs with koni struts/shocks. Gives a nice drop and you can still adjust your dampening to your ride comfort level. with your price range there are only a few coilovers that have dampening adjusting for ride comfort. for your price range you can get H&R, Tein, BC Racing, Ksport, Megan coilovers. I personally have BC Racing and can't complain, they are great. H&R and Tein don't have dampening adjusting unless you get the Tein SS and not the Basics but they price is a bit higher. The other coiovers offer dampening adjusting.

Fortune Auto coilovers are in his price range too. I really like their setup, and good customization, too.

Thanks for clearing that up.
It needs to be coilovers as in the winter we get terrible weather here where I live and I'll need to go back to stock height when the time comes.
I just put 19 inch wheels on and the wheel gap in the back got much smaller while the front remained the same. How low does the BC Raing coilovers go? I'd say I'd need to lower about 2.5-3 inches in the front and 2-2.5 in the rear.
Nice car btw.

It goes pretty low. Still have room in front to go lower. Rears are maxed out.
