C230 sport after marked radio
Hi Friends
I just bought a new after marked radio from china
http://www.aliexpress.com/item/6-95-...508854679.html
But I'm having problem with the install.
When i removed the old radio i found the connecter ( the all in one, with optic fiber)
Now i connected the new radio cable adapter there came with new china model. But my radio will not turn on.
I spoke to the manufacture and they said that the radio will not be able to turn on with out connecting the cable to the optic fiber amplifier, where is that located?
Any help will be much appreciated...

Hello again
I have looked in the trunk and can not find any AMP. Can it be true that some cars don't have a optic fiber AMP?
My model is 2006 c230 sport. No cd charger in the glow box.
But let's say that the old HU (radio) had a built in AMP would it then have to fiber cables? are they just for future CD box in the glove box ?
im so confused. i have been researching for 5 days now..
PLEASE help if you know anything

From what I understand, these units won't work with upgraded "Premium Sound systems".
Do you have the HK system with an amp in the trunk?
Some cars don't have the external amp. There is one in the headunit, and the speakers are wired with normal copper wires.
Then the unit is probably not receiving power.
Ask them for the pinout of the HU wires.

Thanks VVF
My HU just have this cable plug. http://www.google.com/imgres?sa=X&hl...16&tx=81&ty=71
I cant find any AMP what so ever. I think that the head unit must have the AMP. But how cant i make mine work if i need it to be connected to a AMP?

Was anything connected to those fiber cables?
My guess it that's probably for the CD changer and amp which you (apparently) don't have.
I don't think the new HU does not power on because something is "not connected to the amplifier". I think it's the wiring problem, i.e. no 12V to the input on the HU...
From the link you posted:
"Extention kit(extra cost: US$45) is necessary for the car with optic fiber, our unit will work with car speaker directly, factory optic fiber WON'T work again."
That means that someone WITH the amp in the trunk would have to pull new wires directly to each speaker and the amp would be useless.

So im luckey bc i dont have one and all my speakers are in the HU ( NOT fiber optic ) ?
But I have the Extention kit and that what they want me to install. but first i tried whit out it. But i just guess that its a simple 12v problem. Im sure its has +12v and GND. Does it need a 3 wire to turn on? what about AMP control cable ?

So just a little status update.
Im not using the Extention kit.
The speakers is wired whit copper. And they are in the HU wire harness.
I guess My model dose not come whit a optic fiber AMP.
It doesn't really matter anyways.
There is a built in AMP in the CHINA radio?
Here is a pic of the wire on the china radio. sorry for bad quality.

You need to tap into the switched 12V supply + you might need to reverse a couple of connections.
I did not install an aftermarket headunit, so you are on your own from here on (or you can wait until the guys who did the actual installation chime in).
Good luck!

From your wiring diagram: # 12, 15, 16, and 6 is what I would assume you need to connect at the least to get it to power on...

HI Guys
Thanks for your help I got my radio to work now, iit was a loose connection in the wire harness.
----------------------------------------
Only thing now, is that my AC doesn't turn on there is power on. But when you turn the air power on 1-6 nothing happens. Could it be a fuse?
But when you turn on the engine i boost air in thru the feet hoses, but only for like 2 min is it in some kind of safety mode?
