New Owner--Howdy
I'd wanted a Mercedes since I was a kid (I'm 37 now). Got a new job with a rather lengthy commute and somehow convinced the wife that this was the right decision (which it is).
I really worked the Bay Area dealers and ended up getting it for $2,500 under MSRP. I found it really helped to work the internet salespeople, who will give price quotes over the phone or 'net.
I'm definitely having a blast with it.
I have one question. I've searched the forums extensively but would like any additional input.
1. Car Cover. I won't be using it extensively, but the car is parked outdoors, and I do periodically go away for prolonged periods of time. I decided to get either a Mosom or Stormshield cover, but I can't seem to find custom-fit ones for the 2003-4 C-Class sedans. They have them for the 2001. Has the body changed significantly? I'm also a bit concerned about car cover dealers putting all of the C-Class cars in the same category. I would assume that the coupe, 230 Sedan, and 320 have somewhat different dimensions. Can anybody give me suggestions on dealers/strategy?
Thanks--I'm sure I'll be lurking here frequently to learn all I can about mods, etc.
I have the MB cover from the dealer, it fits perfectly while providing good protection from the elements (which aren't particularly severe here in the Bay Area).
I can't recommend a car cover, but I can say that the body is the same as the 2001s. Also, all of the sedans are the same; C230, C240, C320, and C32. Any car cover that will fit these will fit yours.

An Xtra large generic car cover works just as well.
Got mine at Costco for 50 bucks.
I'm parked outside, but under a canopy so not trying to keep the water off, just the dust and crap.
I have to wonder on those tight fitting covers, if it won't tend to grind the dirt against the finish and be a pain to get on.
