add oil comes and goes
last week the warning came up "add 1 qt oil to reach max level". I then went to walmart... bought a quart and the error was gone. next day checked it out and it said oil level was OK. for next week it was ok. the past 2 days it said same thing when i checked level. Today when i went out there to add it the level said "ok." has anyone else had this happen?

I get inconsistent messages too. I guess it depends on how long you let the car sit before you measure the oil. If I only let it sit for a few minutes (gas station) and check I used to get a "1 qt low" message. If I let it sit for a few hours and check, I would get a "ok" message. Eventually, I got messages even after I would let it sit a while - I added about 3/4 of a quart and now I don't have messages at all.
I've read before here that you don't want to add ALL the oil all at once that is recommended - it's easy to go ABOVE max oil level and then you're in trouble - you have to go to the dealer to syphon off the extra oil or you damage the engine. So just add maybe 1/2 quart a day until the messages disappear.
