HELP, 220nm on rear wheel bearing bolt ??

hey guys, I'm gonna change my rusty splash shields on the brake today (parking brake pads have nothing to attach to anymore lol)

I'm checking my Haynes manual, it says the bolt for the wheel bearing should be torqued to

110nm (81 lbf ft)

now when I got this darn pdf, it says the torque on the nut is 220nm ?!

I'm pretty sure 220 will break things, can someone tell me what's up with that ?

I'll surely go with 110nm from haynes, but care to explain why this conflicting info ?

Here 's a screenshot from my manual, and here's the pdf that says 220

according to my Star DVD for a 230K which I assume is similar it lists the torque as 220nm

my rear bearing nut for my Acura CL was 175ft-lbs which is even more. Looks like you need special tools to separate the hub from the axle splines

Thanks my friend, that's really helpful !

I just confirmed that it's 220 nm too, what I read on the Haynes manual was actually the lug nuts' torque setting !

Yeah I know about the tool, but i'll use the lug nuts + two pieces of wood which will work the exact same way

if you need a print out of what the official word from MB let me know and I can post a copy or email as I have the workshop manual however it is only for north american based W203 (C230k, C230, C240, C280, C320, C350, C32, C55) I am thinking that your 200K is similar to our 230K except for power outputs of the engine
