stink air con
John
i have this problem as well since the beginning. since the smell goes away after 5 minutes, i do not care. but, doesn't mold have any health consequences?
many times the smell from an air conditioner comes from an incomplete drain of the condenser unit. (I'm no repair man but here is my best explanation - I had this done to an old car of mine to clear up smell/water problem) There is a drip tube from the condenser to the outside. You see the water under your car on a hot day? That comes down the drip tube. These can become clogged and allow water to build up and ..... mold! Any auto air shop can blow out the drip tube for you.

trip to the dealer is in order. i'm guessing there is no way i can do this myself? where is the tube exactly

I've had this happen on several cars. I try to turn off the AC (i.e., press "AC" so that the fan keeps running) a few minutes before I know I'll be shutting the car off and that usually solves the problem. Gives the condensation a chance to bake off (at least that's what I tell myself).
