shifting

i owned a 1.8L and when i tried to slow my car down by using touch shift (gear 3 to 2), the car sort of choke and give me a jerk is this normal?

If we are thinking about the same thing...yes...you must be downshifting while the RPMs are too high...

when we downshift to reduce speed in our automatics, will it cause problems in the long run.?..i use to drive a manual tran. and i love to downshift..ever since i had my 320 i am afraid to do so..i only downshift when the cops are around so they wont see my brakes applied..pls shine some light..thank you
