Power Inverter Installation

I'm thinking of putting a power inverter in my C320. Currently I have both an 800 watt and 1200 watt to choose from. Here's a link to the 1200 watt on Amazon:

Amazon.com: Peak PKC0CF 1,200W Mobile Power Outlet with Kit: Automotive Amazon.com: Peak PKC0CF 1,200W Mobile Power Outlet with Kit: Automotive

I would like to hard wire this to my battery as well. Was wondering if anyone else has previously tried this? Also was looking for some ideas or suggestions of where I might mount the inverter.

If you really need one, go with the size you need. I've not put one in my MB, but have one for my travel trailer. Keep in mind it will drain the battery pretty quick. As for mounting, put it somewhere where it will get good ventilation...they will heat up.

Just remember that the 1200 watt inverter will draw over 100 amps under full load.
Installation would not be much different from a high power car amplifier. Use heavy gauge wire AWG 2 or 4 and an inline fuse as close to the battery as possible. A car audio dealer would have the right parts. Don't skimp. 100 amps is a lot of current and if done wrong will light fire to your car!
