C230
Lowering Springs Question

I have a 2007 C230 and currently shopping for lowering springs looking at different brands. Some fitment details say '01-'07, and some say '01-'05.
I am confused. So not all W203 (01-07) is the same? How do I know what fits?

H&R 02-07
Tein 01-05
PI 01-07
Carlsson 02-07

not sure if I agree, there are different spring rates depending on the car and engine, Eibach and H&R has different part numbers for the various W203 and they are not the same part number across models of the W203 and when you get to 4matic there are not too many options outside of OEM

I put a set of Eibach on mine (made for my year and engine) and they work fine (btw Eibach is the OEM for C32 and C55) H&R are lower and stiffer and ride quality could be compromised

I would be safe to say that anything for 2006 would be fine for 2007 as that was basically a half year of car production and the cars are identical

Boom- I agree. Lazy/sloppy response from me. What I meant was on strictly a mechanical fitment level, all w203 sedan/wagon springs are the same throughout the production run. 2005 C55 springs will fit in a 2004 C240 for example. But, would I do it..no because different spring rates for heavier engine. You are 100% correct- different spring rates for v8 C55, V6 wagons, 4matic, V6 vs L4, etc. The bottom line for HoustonHelix is that if he gets springs rated for his V6 equipped 2007 C230 he will be good to go. The trick here, is that the 06/07 Model year C230 had the v6 versus the earlier C230 that had the inline 4, so Helix that will explain some of the year splits/application differences. sorry for the confusion/misleading info on my earlier post.

H&R does produce 4matic springs in very limited production runs. I had to wait a month for mine from Germany. But they are in current production for anyone looking. I paid $255 shipped from ECStuning.com

Save yourself money in the long run and get coils. That's what I did.

For springs

I would recommend the H&R Springs as that is what our personal shop recommendation is.
