Subwoofer bass

Hi all
I've fitted two jl w3v2 in the trunk. It sounds absouloutely amazing, until you close the trunk. Any ideas on how to get bass through the trunk to the cabin.

C class sedan , c180 , non folding seats.

Thanks

Hi Preet
Thanks for replying.
That looks similar to what. I was thinking.
Do u. Remember how u did it, or possibly have a DIY on it. I can see that you have a grill in. Did you buy it ready made fabricate it.

Your other option is to remove the factory fitted Sub from the parcel shelf. If not fitted then the blanker piece.

Great Subs but all you need for definition is some venting into the passenger compartment.

Hi all
@glynn
Thanks a lot for the idea, I removed the factory sub and it sounds a bit better but not as good as it could. Cheers for the pics as we'll mate.

@kanadian
Thats a better setup than mine mate. The jls rms at 300 each. They are driven by a 450w amp right now. Sweet setup though dude. Did you change door speakers tweeters and amp them too, or are you running stock

@Preet
Thanks man. That looks sweet. Damn good idea too. Hoping to get round to trying at some point.

Thanks Its alright.. I changed only my front door speakers and tweeters.. I have like an absolute base model c240 so i dont have an amp but i do have the factory sub which i tapped wit a LOC and ran to the amp for my sub.. running a stock tape deck head unit as well..
i thought yours would also be 500rms.. 300 is still lots especially since you have 2 subs.. is the amp 450 rms at 4 ohms? or is that peak? are your speakers 4 ohms or 2?

would removing the foam on the rear deck improve bass greatly? i have the same issue with a lot of sub bass being absorbed by the trunk surround.

My speakers are all 4 ohms and are driven by a jl 4300 rms at 50w per channel. There all components. The fronts are in factory location but the the reEar tweeter are in the roof. I'm using an appradio instead of stock. I don't know whether there is a stock amplifier in. Mine. The sub amp is a bassface which advertises the rms at 500 but I think that must be peak, rms is around 350-400.

@ tacosauce123
Are you referring to the foam in the rear deck or underneath it. I thought about this but then realised that it would probably be more rattle prone. Have you done this?

thats a very intense setup man must be crisp as funk.. i'd also try another amp for your subs.. something that will push your subs at 300w rms each.. after my trial and errors it made all the difference for me. picked up an MRD1000 for $100 on kijiji and it was perfect. those JL subs are very precise with bass.. better for clean tight in tune bass as appose to a trunk rattler but if u push them with the right amount of wattage you'll be very satisfied

I removed the rear deck and cut out the foam covering the subwoofer openings.. added sound deadening.. made sure no rattles. and built and amp and subwoofer tray that fits directly under it. Well sealed between the sub and the deck..
