Wind noise saga continues -- appreciate some input

Well, I took my new c320 in again to the dealer today to take a drive with the tech in the car. Very nice guy, but as I feared he "couldn't hear anything abnormal." To me it is a fairly obvious sound. At about 40mph, you start to hear wind noise from the driver's door seal, which gets progressively louder as speed increases. It isn't very loud, but to me it doesn't seem normal.

I have now driven 3 different c-class sedans -- 2 new, one with 2oK miles, and I recall both being absolutely silent at any reasonable speed. Isn't lack of road noise the hallmark of this vehicle?

However, perhaps I'm too discerning. Is minor wind noise at higher speeds normal for this car? Anyone else have this problem that lingers?

Dealer has already tightened the doors, and I have yet another appointment in a week for a thorough diagnostic of the problem (along with a new rattle in map light console), but I fear I may be stuck with the noise unless I can come up with a DIY fix (other than placing cotton ***** in my ears while behind the wheel).

Any thoughts are appreciated.

Problems with door or window seals upon delivery are not too rare with the C's.

My dealer actually found & replaced a damaged door seal during the service A. I didn't complain, because I thought it was so minor that it would never be found.

If your dealer can't/won't fix it, I'd take it to another dealer for a look. The car should have NO wind noise at speed.

Good luck.

I have the same noise...some where around the B-pillar or possibly even the C-Pillar. It drives me nuts, highway speeds the car is audibly squealing from the wind...dealer says it is "normal" even though none of the C-Class loaners have exhibited the noise. I am getting fed up with the car, too many little things the dealer won't fix and then the major things they screw up even more. Once winter is gone and I don't need the 4Matic anymore I am getting rid of my C320 BTW, I've tried three dealers, none better than the other!

i also had this problem. my seal wasnt sitting flush and it still isnt. they replaced the seal, but it still sits noticably higher than the other 3 seals on the other 3 doors. i also have other issues that havnt been taken care of. ive all about given up.

Mine is fine and no wind noise at any speed, even 130.... So your dealer sucks since they can't take care of a wind noise problem, then turning and telling you it is normal. That is horse****. It is not normal for any MB to have wind noise. Even the convertables don't have wind noise, til you put the top down. I would call MBUSA and complain that your dealer can't even find the wind noise problem on your car, how the hell are they to find a more major problem. That is what is wrong with the world today, if they can't hook it to the computer and find out what is wrong then they can't fix it. Any good Tech would of found the problem on a short test drive, or given it to the body shop for them to look at and re-align what is needed.
