Cigarette Lighter Power
Is it possible to get power out of the cigarette lighter in my 04 c230 coupe without having the engine, headlights, or tail lights on?

I want to use the cigarette lighter to power something without the car being on.

Assuming you want to keep the cord on the device stock, why not wire up an aux. power outlet directly to a constant power source? That way, you can conceal it and not have the cord in the ash tray all the time.

That sounds like a good idea. What is the best constant power source to tap into?

I've never been a fan of vampire taps (wire clamps) so I'd say go back to the fuse box.
