Modding with stock springs? Red Yellow and otherwise

So, recently I saw something in the EPC about selecting springs.
My coilovers are shot, and I'm a little over having a rediculously stiff ride.
So I got to wondering, would it possible to order springs directly from Mercedes that would be lower in front, and stiffer all around and throw some Koni's or something in there and have a nice handing car, that doesn't feel like a Fred Flintstone mobile?

Or maybe I can take a coil off the front, and put some decent shocks all around.
So, I found this article on the EPC help website on Spring selection.
http://retailfactory.mercedes-benz.c...ghtsub=springs

I can't get my current springs to show in the datacard, oh well.

But then I've attached a spring selection guide, and a list of parts #'s.
The good news is that the springs can be had for like $61.50 each online!
Cheap! At least when I run this pn for the rears.... So a whole set would only be like 225 for the whole car perhaps?!

Can someone help me determine what would be a stiffer lower stock spring for my little coupey? Glyn? Are you out there?

Is it kind of mutually exclusive though?
I was thinking the springs were all the same height (say for Sport models),
the only difference being the stiffness (so as to support more weight, hence the 'points' you have to calculate).
But if you get less-stiff springs, the car will sit lower. How this affects the handling is a ? ...

why not get a set of Eibach's? basically the C32 OEM springs

I put a set on my car to replace the 3 broken springs and while stiffer than the original they are still compliant on Toronto's horrible potholed and crappy uneven pavement without shattering my liver and kidney's

Front right broke a full coil, the two rears broke half a coil. The front I knew about because of a clancking sound however the rears I had no idea until they were taken out.

This is a common issue with mercedes in areas where salt is used. The bottom part of the coil starts rusting and a crack develops and eventually snaps. The break is clean and smooth

I've been driving for 34 years and never had a car that broke springs, so this was a first for me. I have a 1975 TR6 and it still has the original springs.

In speaking with other c class, clk and e class owners this is not an isolated case
