Hood star snapped off, easy replace?
Does anyone know the part number?
I figured out how to remove the adapter that holds the star, but im not sure if that adapter needs to be replaced or not. When it snapped off, I was left with the star and a ball like unit.

Hood Star is the easiest MB part to replace:
Open hood, reach up with your hand and rotate the large gray steel spring-loaded clip 1/4 turn. The "whole" mounting unit becomes loose and pulls straight up, out the top.
Just be sure to catch it so it doesn't slip out and scratch your hood.
Installation is simply the reverse, ... sounds like you may be making it too complicated.
I don't think MB sells just the Star without the large mounting adapter.

Ok, thats what I needed to know, if its ONE unit with the adapter or if its JUST the star. I said I did know how to remove the adapter but just not clear how the original star was connected to the hole in the adapter. Thanks
