ASWC-1 controlling both dash and receiver at same time
I just installed the ASWC-1 to a JVC KD-X80BT in my 2003 C240. I used the auto detect option and it apparently detected on its own and assigned the keys as listed below. But every time I used the up/down arrow buttons or the +/- buttons, it's also sending those commands to my dash display at the same time and changing the page displayed, etc. Anyone come across this before? I sent an email to the vendor as well, but figured I would ask here in case of faster response. Thanks.
Up/Down Arrow Buttons - track next and previous (changes dash at same time)
+/- Buttons - volume up and down (changes dash at same time)
Phone End - toggles mute
Phone Pick Up - changes source on receiver

I received a response from Metra (they were quick to respond), and they mentioned they are able to differentiate between the steering wheel and dash commands on newer Mercedes, and are hoping they can go back and figure out how to get it to update on older models as well so the buttons do not update both the receiver and dash at the same time. I also eventually came across tw2's write up and the controls defaulted the same as mine, so sounds like it's typical default auto setup (I just wanted to make sure I did not connect it the wrong way since search results did not come up with much on this issue so thought I did something wrong). Anyway, I'm taking his advice and reprogramming the keys in the meantime in hopes Metra can release an update eventually (thanks tw2).

The same thing is happening to me! The weird part is it was working normally for the first two months. I had to go to "AUDIO" then press the button to skip song, now I can do it from any menu, which of course creates problems. If you hear anything back, please message me and let me know.

I just put a new stereo in my 2005 C240 and used this unit with the same issue. The up and down keys will do both stereo and car things at the same time.
I just noticed there is a firmware update from the MFG and am wondering if that could resolve the issue.
I used the auto program function.
