Tie Rod End Replacement - anyone have a DIY ?
I've recently noticed a lot of "sway" or "sloppy" steering especially at higher speeds, almost like the car feels like driving a boat and not sticking to the ground.
I have 133k on my '07 C230 - around 90-100k I started replaced the control arm Bushings, Struts, stabilizer bar and links, (stabilizer bar because the bushings are preinstalled on it), ... so now I can't figure out what the problem was without going to the stealer!
I lifted the car today and the steering tie rod ends - the joints are completely loose, I can move the tie rod with the push of my finger. So with some reading, I've concluded it is the tie rod ends.... I think I'm correct???
They're the only parts I haven't replaced so far. I've searched for a DIY with no luck... Can anyone help?
I'm looking for the torque spec for the tie rod knuckle bolt. Also do I really need to buy a puller for the knuckle - or can I just hammer it out? I'm not trying to be cheap - I don't want to buy a tool if I don't need to....
Thank you !!!

Here you go--attached the WIS Doc
Also you don't need a tool but it will be harder to get off....loosen the nut leaving it on with just a few threads, use a prybar to put pressure down on the tie rod and hit the tierod sideways below the nut and knuckle (where it says 10a in the doc) repeatedly HARD with a BFH until it pops free. Then remove the nut all the way and it should be easier to take off/pop free now.

I hit it on the knuckle between the tie rod ball joint and where the nut is ie where the tapered end fits through the hole
