purge valve part number
I just dropped my car off for service A and also wanted the purge valve replaced so the ticking noise would be reduced...
can someone let me know what the part no is of the new part coz my service advisor looked at me like i had horns ....

Heh, I had my car in for the very same reasson. Well, my service guy told me:
-They all sound like that, and they are supposed to do so becuase it is part of the normal "working-noice" for the engine.
Told him not to give me that B.S, but did they change the purge valve for me?? NOT!
Next time I bring my car in I will print out every single post and service bulletin on this topic and tell him some kind words... Or maybe I should find another workshop...

I need help. My car ticks as it revs but I don't know if it's the normal sound of the exhaust/engine or if it's this purge valve thing. I'm going to record a .wav file and post it here to get an opinion. In the meantime, I'd appreciate it if someone could post a sound clip of their car if it is known to be normal sounding -or- if they have the valve noise.
I just don't want to waste a trip to the dealer if I don't have to.
