Fixing costs...

I am just wondering how much it would cost to get my side fender fixed b/c some girl backed into my car the other day. It is bent pretty good and i can barely open my driver side door. Im just wondering if any of you guys have got into an accident and how much it costed to fix it.

Well i don't know how much it'll cost to fix it yet but im sure it will be 1500-2000 if i didn't get a new fender. Is it up to the person who hit me's insurance company how they want to fix it or up to me?

well a new fender only cost like 250. its definately not gonna cost you over 1000 to replace and paint just a fender. get your body shop to tell the insurance company that your fender is not fixable so they have to replace it. anyways replacing the fender usually is cheaper than doing body work to fix it.

So if i get a new fender, where are they going to find the paint i have for the car so it matches and won't look different compare to the original paint?? Man getting in a minor accident is a pain in the a$$ even though its not my fault..:o

well if its minor and its just the fender, they should be able to fix it reallly good for 400. cuz my gf backed up into someone and hit her 3 quarter panel and it only cost 400 to fix. well your shop would know how to get the same paint that MB uses.

their insurance should pay for whoever u take it to. For a benz, do it right, take it to the best bodyshop, or call the dealer and ask them where to take it, i would recomend you get a new fender, because if they try and fix it, no matter how good they do it, its the future that could be the problem. They will have to use body-filler that will end up shrinking and will have to be redone in a couple years. A fender is very easy to replace and with your car not being too old, just simply putting the stock color back on that fender without fading the paint to other panels in the area should not be a problem and should match perfect. -Chris
