Watch Out - Crazy Glue @ Dealer!!
Recently I brought my other car to dealer, a C320, for some warranty claim. Once of the item is to fix the loose shifter indicator plate since it move side-to-side.
When I got my car in return. The shifter plate is not moving and the invoice shows dealer had replaced the shifter plate. After closer examining the join between the shifter plate and the center console wood plate, I saw a discolor on the edge. So I put my nail Thur the join and feel the uneven surface that feel just like you Crazy-Glue the plastic part that cause the plastic to melt and discolor.
I have to revisit and they have to order parts for my other warranty item. When I revisit last Friday, I indicated they have used some glue to fix the problem (note, different service adviser...last one is a looser, never return calls.) At first this "New" service adviser indicate they will never use such of thing to fix stuff. When I went back to pick up the car, he then told me ....yeah, previous service tech had use some "sealant" (yeah, it's glue dude!) to fix the shifter plate which they shouldn't do. They have to order the new center console for me....so I'm going back again this wk.
Thank god they are not crazy glue our car together!!
