Help needed to remove the "seal" right underneath the bottom edge of the door?

I want to fix the rust near the bottom of our C240 doors and I would like to remove that plastic "seal" (not sure how to call it properly) at the bottom edge of the door to have a throughout clean up/sanding for the rust. Has that "seal" been glued or clipped to the door? Can anyone shed some light how to remove it properly so that I can put it back later on ? Thanks.

Here are the pictures. Does anyone know if it is removable and can be put back afterward, of course. I don't want to force/ply it out, then find no way to put it back .

The rust area I want to fix

The "seal" at the bottom of the door

Try pulling it toward the inside of the car , I just did the rust on all 4 doors If you can wait till later afternoon I can send pictures , would you advise keeping them off after repairing , I would imagine this strip would hold water causing my doors to rust in the first place , I have a 2001 c320 with the exact strips

Well glad you are taking good care of yours!
Mine is a 2005 with 250K Km on it. My daughter drives it to college now. It is rusting, particularly the dogs legs. (Montreal salty winter roads) I wont do any body work. figure give it another 5 years. and it will have done its faithful duty.

Think the seal has sound deadening qualities from road noise and as far as I can see MB is the only brand to have this feature

According to WIS the seal is glued on. I recently replaced my door with a donor door in matching 040 black paint. It was missing this strip, but otherwise loaded sans mirror.

However, the donor door has the strongest weirdest tackiest glue I’ve ever come across. I could not locate the OEM remover at a 1 door DIY quantity - I tried prepsol, prekleeno, BESTINE, alcohol, mineral spirits, acetone, 3M adhesive remover and there are still tracks of glue/sealant. Seems very CNC applied and almost seems to be an added sealant at the crimped rolled bottom edge.

Anyone ever get all of this goop off?

I’m about to just install the bottom door seal per WIS by filling the channel with adhesive...after I tape off the exterior of the door, just in case, certainly not how it was done in Sindelfingen.
