04' c240 Oil Warnings

Hi All,

I just wanted to get some feedback before I go on a mission to get this issue resolved by a mechanic or to see if it's something that I can repair at home.

I've been getting these 2 warning messages after driving approx 15kms.
1) Engine Oil Level, Reduce Engine Oil
2) Engine Oil Level, Stop, Engine Off!

This has been happening to me for a while. I haven't changed the oil in approx 3 months. One time this happened to me I tried to check the oil in dyno mode and it said I was low on oil, so I got an oil change right away.

Any advice is appreciated.

my suggestion is to do an oil change while using engine flush and see exactly how much oil comes out. If it is less or equal enough to the recommended oil limit then mostly likely you have a faulty/blocked sensor

Ok thanks for the suggestion! I'm going to give that a try.

Cheers!

I inquired about getting an engine flush with my next oil change and was told that since was running synthetic oil, the car would never require a flush. Does that sound right?

Do another flush and ensure the correct amount is poured in. At this point I can't tell if your oil is too high (warning #1) or way too low (warning #2). Not sure about the V6 which you have, but the I4 oil lid specifically says not to exceed the maximum level.

Not sure if you have figured your issue out but it may just be a faulty sensor. I unplugged my sensor before an oil change and plugged it back in after draining the oil. And it has since then not given me those same warnings. Made me think my car was going to die but its been functioning well (the sensor).
