Help: Key won't turn
I read the other threads on related issues but I did not find a solution. My c240 wagon 2003 was running fine but today when I put the key in, the ignition does not engage, no lights come on, key won't turn.
I checked the fuses and they all seem OK. I have two keys which were both working yesterday and today neither works.
Tried jumping the car and nothing.
I do not have a volt meter so I am not sure the battery is not dead but it was fully charged yesterday and no lights seem to be on.
If I call CAA/AAA will they be able to do anything? Can't even unlock the wheel to get the car out of the garage.
Any ideas??
TIA
But if you're man enough then get out the voltmeter or at least get into dyno-mode to use the car's on-board voltmeter - Ah, so apparently, you didn't do enough reading!
And remember, NEVER jump start a Mercedes. You risk damaging the Front SAM. Your issue could be anything from power drain like power seats, weak battery (should be replaced every 5 years!), alternator, dirty ignition/key, faulty EIS (expensive),...
Never jump a Mercedes? Never heard of that. Why do they provide the remote jump location? I'll have to look up that one too.
I have a friend coming by tomorrow with a volt meter so maybe we'll figure it out. My battery is only 2 years old I think so it seems odd to me. And I have two keys that I was able to try both with the same results so pretty sure that's not the issue.
