It's Mine Finally!

I took possession of my beautiful blue baby this afternoon!! After seven long months, I am finally behind the wheel and loving the smell of my factory leather. Love the sunroof too. It was about 72F in Albuquerque and I had the roof open all the time. My only beef is that I am now too impatient to wait the break-in period and would love to launch this car at every green light. But I will be good. I want to have my baby around for a long time.

Best part of the day (that made me grin) was when I was showing the car to my co-workers this afternoon, a guy in his jet black 5 series bimmer saw my baby, backed up to get a better look, then tried to impress himself by pulling away with a bit of a scratch as if he was marking his territory! I guess he was a little jealous!

Oh and by the way, the Orion Blue is best viewed in person, as most shots on the net and from postings don't do it justice. I am glad I waited for this car - it is just plain gorgeous!!!!!!

Congrats, flattop. I bet you're grinning from ear to ear. Enjoy it. And add your car picture to the owner's thread at your convenience.

Oh, and about that Bimmer. Boys in Bimmers like to mark their territory. Jealousy can be a silly motivator. Fortunately, most Bummer drivers (3-series and Z3 especially) are girls, and they're not into squatting in public. So, you're safe... :D

I guess I can safely dedicate myself to bimmer bashing and this would keep everyone on the forum happy with me, heh?

BTW Congrats flattop on the new car. When I had hair, once upon a time, I sported a flattop.

Thanks guys for the warm welcome! MB-Bob and Columbus, I'll be posting some pics soon. Need to borrow my co-workers digicam next week. Oh and freak spittle-storm here this afternoon (when does it ever rain here) turned my beautiful blue into a filthy, spotted mess. Need to clean up before I show you mine.

Had a great day today though. Total mileage after 1 1/2 days is just over 100 miles driving around town. Best part is I'm the only Orion Blue in the ABQ area and everyone takes a second glance. :D :D Gotta love this car and I do.
