Undocumented REST feature?

Undocumented REST feature?
We have a 2003 C320 Coupe. It does not have the AC with the digital readout, and hence no button with a "REST" label. However, if the car is off and I hit the "auto" button, I can hear and feel the AC fan come on and blow warm air. Is this an undocumented REST feature? My manual only mentions REST for the more fancy AC.

I did a search of the forum, after the post above, but only found one thread where this was mentioned. So it looks like we lucked out with the REST feature. We had it on our SLK and CLK and kinda got used to it.
I hate it when these little features disappear over time to make it look like the car prices are staying the same! Our earlier MBs had hard cover manuals, and now everything is paperback. In our new CLK Cabrio that we bought last year, they left out a bunch of features that were present in the previous model, e.g. seats that glide forward electrically for access to the rear seats, power rear headrests. They even left out the plastic bag in the boot for your flat wheel when you have a puncture. Only two keys (our '01 SLK had 4 keys), and the list goes on...

Mine has the Rest Feature, just not the label on the button. I do not understand how deleting this would really cut costs. Since it is most likely just programming. I also get the moonroof and windows to close as well bu holding one button. Which was not supposed to work the moonroof in the coupes, but it does in mine. I think the most likely reason for all this is to make the C class more diferent than the 'Higher End' ones. But for those of us who know about it we get to use it.

I know I'm bringing back a VERY old thread but I think it's better than creating a new one.
Apparently my 05 does not have the hidden rest feature, but when I have the key in 'run', engine off, and heat on I notice that there is a small pump next to the coolant tank running.This pump only runs if the climate control is calling for heat. I assume this is the aux pump?
Why would my car have this pump but no rest function? It seems to me like they removed the function in software but left all of the hardware so you do get a sort of 'rest' feature if they key is in while the engine is off. Weird.

I remember reading somewhere that coolant is circulated through the engine after it reaches operating temperature so all parts of the alloy block and heads cool at an even rate. This keeps the metal from distorting and stressing at certain places. Anyone know for sure?
