Cam Chain Gone C180 Kompressor
Driving back just now, I heard a loud whining sound then a clatter, the engine died, I started it back up and drove it to car park, AA came out but couldn't get the cam cover off, so waiting for recovery.
it does sound like timing chain to me, cars done 170k miles.
Hope it hasn't damaged anything else, it still runs but noisy.

I didn't start it again, I heard a noise like it was the sprockets grinding away, the engine still ran smooth, I tuned the engine off and left it at that.
It's currently in hospital waiting for the doctor to diagnose it lol.
I will repair it as I love the car
Some pics from earlier

Cam chain is okay, all tight.
There is oil in spark plugs, think it may be vanos issue and valve. will find out tomorrow

Thinking its the cam sensor magnets, I got one today an the updated wire harness, will get the other Monday from Mercedes.
Got oil, spark plugs and gaskets.
Will fire it up Monday after parts fitted, Fingers crossed.
Right car is for sale, needs a new engine really.
