Key turns, but car doesn't start
The car is 2000 w202 c200. It has the electronic key and the key disengages the steering lock and I can turn the key till all the dashboard lights light up however once you turn it to start the car nothing happens. Any idea as to what the problem is ? The battery is new and so is the cps sensor and the starter has been checked on and it turns over the engine when connected to the battery. I do need some assistance and I'm dumbfounded as to what the issue is. Also I had the key and eis checked and both of them were also faultless.

Any wires chewed by rodents?
Found a nest in my car once,
and in another instance a buddy of mine had an opposum living under the hood.
Just a thought.

Yep I searched for any nests or leaves of any sorts by removing the windshield area trims. Anyhow I brought the car to an indie and they changed the ecu and eis with one of another car. And now the car starts perfectly. However they're asking for an absurd amount, about 1000 us. While on eBay the whole set sells for just about 100 us 😤. So I spoke to this guy who has a shop that repairs eis, It was confirmed that somehow the eis is spoilt even if it didn't show up in the beginning. He has a way to swap eis only so I'll be rejecting the work done by that indie and just swap out the eis. And yes I know they're coded together but it can be done somehow. Will keep you guys updated
