2006 c class 1.8 kopressor estate auto
Oil in loom

Hi I have a problem with my 2006 c180 1.8 estate. I've had the ecu tested and it had oil tracking down the loom into it as it was showing faults on dashboard. It's been traced to the exhaust cam sensor which is leaking.
Is it possible to buy a blanking plate to stop this or do I have to buy a new sensor, is there also a plate for the inlet cam sensor. If there is can I buy them online and do they have a part no. Thanks for any help.

Yes, its a dongle. PN is around here somewhere.
Major topic.

Check this thread, 1st post has a pic of the dongle and pn.
Then perhaps find one specific to the 1.8L M271,
just search. You will need to clean the loom, disconnect everything and spray a ton of
electrical contact cleaner or MAF cleaner to get all the oil out.
Also, usually other parts are effected like the O2 sensors.
